[TEXT]
Several things have changed in these cities, since I've been here last; I hadn't expected this level of progress in such a relatively short period of time. That isn't to say it's a bad thing, per se; this place is still trying to retain some sense of culture, it seems, even if said culture is centered entirely around these creatures we're being made to befriend.
Although - preservation of culture or no - I still can't say I approve of the architecture, it's incredibly unappealing.
[ACTION]
[This had taken some getting used to.
It wasn't exactly that Tokiomi had been afraid of the creature - it was sort of difficult to be afraid of something that looked so generally nonthreatening, and he obviously saw no reason to fear the flames, given his alignment back home - so much as he really, really wasn't one for physical contact with...anything, much less animals. There was also a mild concern at first that it would throw him, but thankfully the steed in question seemed to recognize him after a moment. It had been a while, but he had belonged to Tokiomi originally; after a while of slow pacing around the creature, it had eventually nudged him as though to imply that he should really get a move on if he was going to do something.
Tokiomi had given it a bit of a Look, though it was more disapproving than angry; however, he did have to admit that the animals here were far more intelligent than they were back in his home world. So it was decided, then; muttering something about how he sincerely hoped this one would use that intelligence to not throw him off or burn him horrendously through his clothes, he had vaulted up onto its back, and...huh.
Well, this wasn't...terrible. The most contact he'd had with any sort of animal in his life, which was certainly unpleasant, but it wasn't intolerable.
And so it had come to pass that Tokiomi Tohsaka had shown up in Violet City, giving absolutely zero damns that he was doing so astride a flaming unicorn and seeing no reason to dismount upon arrival, choosing instead to ride the damn thing like he has all the swag in the world.
...well, that's not entirely true - he clearly dismounted somewhere along the line to partake in Violet City's...ah, specialty, there.
Flaming unicorn.
Glass of red.
Rather expensive-looking jewel-encrusted staff tucked under his arm.
More composure and elegance than you can shake a stick at.
...and no sense of direction, he has no idea where he's going and has taken to just wandering around aimlessly until he finds something familiar or is stopped.
Can't win them all, clearly.]

Of course, he wasn't the most patient of men, so when he finally ar...rived..
Tohsaka are you trying to upstage him????? Good god that is a ridiculous amount of class
well, anyway]
...Well. It's good to see you again in person, Tohsaka.
no subject
That said, however, he does seem rather genuinely pleased to see you, good sir; he may actually get off the damn horse for the sake of greeting you...and while it doesn't involve any floating as though he's descending from the mothership, he actually manages to not spill that wine.
Like. A. Boss.]
Likewise, Lord El-Melloi; my apologies for keeping you waiting.
[...we will not speak of the fact that it took him a while to figure out how to rapidash here, no one needs to hear about that]
no subject
you certainly are a worthy acquaintance]
It was no trouble at all, really. There's much here in Violet to keep me occupied, so it didn't feel as though I was waiting particularly long.
no subject
to do otherwise is unacceptable]
Is there? As I was noting earlier, the city itself does seem to have changed somewhat, since our last visit here - some changes more pleasant than others.
[in other words, this wine
it is excellent]
You seem to be faring well; it's good to see it.
no subject
[...he would like to buy some but he needs to save all his money for Repels...]
Well, things could be much worse. For a month or so it seemed as though everything was going absolutely horribly.
no subject
[...hold...on...]
I do hope everything has been going reasonably well with your fiancée?
[as soon as that's out there
he suspects he may have just walked into something he didn't want to walk into, given that you haven't mentioned her...]
no subject
...well you can if you know how to social cues, uh, but it's hard to miss even if you're really terrible at them]
...She's... no longer here. She was returned to our world around the end of July.
no subject
...truly regrettable. I'm sorry.
[Tokiomi, that tends to work better if you shift tone or something -
no? okay then]
There's still a chance that she'll return to you; from what I've heard, people tend to return after they've been brought here once. Not always, but often. You'll see her soon.
no subject
[...and that's on top of everything else...]
no subject
[He personally hasn't heard of it being more than...maybe one? But then, you've been looking into this for longer than he has...]
I do understand your pain, as the idea of remaining separated from my Aoi for that long is unthinkable. However, I doubt you'll leave it that long; we'll unlock the secrets of this place and whatever magic operates it well before that amount of time passes.
no subject
...Hah, well, of course. I have no doubts about that-it's simply irritating to deal with until we manage to reach that point, after all. This place is irritating enough that I'm not really sure if I would want her to have to return.
[sure, bro. surrre.]
no subject
[AND SUDDENLY
ALL THE SUBTLETY OF A BLUNT AXE]
no subject
his attempts at seeming unaffected though]
...That's irrelevant to the issue at hand.
no subject
[he's starting to suspect it isn't]
no subject
[DROP IT
DROP IT]
no subject
I'll think no less of you, should that not be the case.
no subject
[YOU'RE NOT GETTING ANY OF HIS HINTS ARE YOU DOING THIS ON PURPOSE]
no subject
...if you insist, then.
[HE TRIED]
no subject
Good.
[ANYWAY, TIME TO SHIFT GEARS NOW THAT HE'S SUFFICIENTLY DONE]
...As far as my plans for the future go, I intend to spend another week or so in Violet in order to examine the ruins again. It seems things have changed there as well-there seem to be some mysterious Pokemon there that I didn't encounter beforehand, so I'm going to attempt to catch some of them.
no subject
...and I'm sorry did you say ruins because I think you just said ruins
that has improved the mood dramatically holy shit]
I certainly wouldn't mind staying for a while; perhaps I'll look at this place again myself.
[at least he has the common decency to know to leave out the "NOW THAT WE KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT..." part of that]
no subject
I think it would be worth your while. By this point, I find it quite easy to navigate, and the more recently discovered Pokemon that I've seen really are interesting.
no subject
Perhaps I'll accompany you, then; I see no harm in it, at least.
[MAYBE HE WILL GET SOME DECENT EXPERIENCE
FOR THIS GODFORSAKEN ROCK HE IS TRAINING]
no subject
[OR SOME NEW ONES MAYBE
THERE'S SOME PRETTY CRAZY SHIT IN THERE, IT'S AWESOME]
